How does a location shoot work?

Since moving from the studio I have photographed in many outdoor locations but also in your homes. My sessions have changed from structured studio shoots within a white box to creative natural lifestyle images reflecting you as a family.

Taking the studio away already relieves that barrier of nerves and apprehension. I’m coming into your family home, your safe place. I have found that children are more comfortable with me and pretty instantly I’m there on a play date and they are showing me all their favourite toys.

Your children are allowed to have fun, I’m not your traditional photographer. There is no sign of the word cheese forcing an awkward smile, your children can play hide and seek, run in the garden, blow bubbles, make cakes, have sink baths, jump on the beds, have Daddy bundles and lots of giggles.

But… is my house suitable?

The majority of us are house proud and want to portray a scene of calm and ‘I’ve got this’, rather than of the madness that comes with living. All I need to shoot in your home is natural light, neutral wall space and use of your master bedroom (light bedding is great but I can always bring a throw). Now, I know you all have windows so the natural light won’t be an issue and there is always a space to shoot in. Within minutes of walking into your home I can see the best spots for your shoot and sometimes they may be areas you had never thought of. Your photographs will not show the patch of carpet you forgot to vacuum, that one wall that hasn’t been decorated yet or the toys that you put away and your son got out again.  I ignore all of that and see the beauty that is in your family and the perfect you have created.

What do I get for my money?

Previous pricing allowed small session fees but high prices for any additional photographs. Without the overheads of the studio I am now able to offer families better value for money.

Your 1-hour session of fun, creative family photography is an investment. An investment into photography that will leave you with memories and photographs to cherish for years to come. My new transparent all inclusive packages mean that you no longer have to choose between your photographs; you can create albums, wall galleries, calendars for grandparents and fill your home with your lifestyle images.

”We first met Zoe about 6 years ago when she was recommended to us by a friend for our wedding photos, and since then she has become our family photographer! We have been so pleased with all our sessions with her, from outdoor sessions to the studio and now having her come to our home to take photos. In every situation Zoe makes you feel at ease and comfortable in front of the camera. Our recent photo shoot with Zoe was at our house photographing us along with our toddler and newborn baby who was only a week old! This was such a wonderful experience as we could relax knowing we were at home and didn’t have to travel with a newborn baby. It was lovely to see the photos in our own home knowing that wherever she shot them the backgrounds would match our place as they were taken at home! Zoe was amazing working with our toddler and our newborn – getting our toddler to do anything at the moment is tough and Zoe was able to get him to pose in lots of different ways! Being at home probably helped this as well as our little boy felt more comfortable in his own environment. Overall we have enjoyed every experience with Zoe but our recent photoshoot at home was our favourite! Thank you yet again Zoe for such fabulous photos!’
